Chat, reports and status

Chat

Lords talk in the chat box in the lower-left corner. Press Enter to write and / to start a command.

Tab Who reads it
World Every lord in the world.
Order Your Order's members (shown once you join one).
Whispers Private conversations, one thread per lord.
  • Click a name to whisper to that lord. Each whisper thread keeps its history and counts as unread until you open it, on every device. A whisper that arrives while you look elsewhere shows as a toast.
  • Coordinates typed in a message (2:41:8) become links to the map.
  • A line that names you is highlighted.

Commands

Command Does
/g message Speak in the world channel.
/o message Speak in your Order's channel.
/w Name message Whisper to a lord. Put names with spaces in quotes: /w "Aldric of the Marches" hail.
/r message Reply to the last whisper.
/help List the commands.

Limits

  • Messages are at most 500 characters.
  • You can speak in the world channel once every 3 seconds, and once a second in the others.
  • The same line cannot be repeated within 30 seconds.
  • NPC realms cannot be whispered to.
  • World and Order lines are kept for 30 days; whispers are kept.

The chat reconnects on its own if the connection drops.

Reports

Everything that happens to your realm is filed in the Reports panel (R), sorted into tabs:

Tab Reports
Battles Battles and Meteor Spell strikes, with a replay of each battle.
Scouting Your scout reports, ravens sighted over your strongholds, and scrying.
Quests Quest and envoy reports.
Orders Applications, invitations, reinforcements and Order news.
Other Convoys, garrisons, returning hosts, settling, salvage, completed studies and system messages.

Reports are written in the language of whoever opens them. Reports with coordinates link to the map.

Server status

The coloured dot in the top bar shows the server's state: green online, yellow degraded, red unreachable. Click it for the status page:

  • ping, lords online (active in the last 5 minutes), today and in total, and the realm's size;
  • chat activity, how long the game server has been up, database latency, the chat relay and your own chat connection;
  • the game loop's heartbeat and any overdue events;
  • the world's charter.

The status reads degraded when the game loop has not reported for 3 minutes or events are overdue. Even then, events still resolve whenever any lord makes a request, only late.
